View of Fort Hampton site. The Fort was located at the top of the hill where the house now stands. The photo was taken from a point near a spring-fed creek about 300 yards north of the Fort, . The creek was the primary water supply for the Fort. The marker and U.S. Highway 72 is about 1/4 mile on the other side of the fort site. |
